Tracking the government’s stated mitigation measures and their real-world effectiveness. Moving from “misinformation and theatrics” to “facts and science.”
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
An EIA is a dynamic document intended to predict, reduce, and manage environmental harm before it occurs. Under Dominica’s Physical Planning Act of 2002, any project triggering significant environmental effects must prepare one.
Public Note: The distinction between “outline” permission and a “full application” is important. An outline permission is a general approval in principle; the full application contains the detailed environmental safeguards. Citizens have the right to request and review the full EIA documents under the Escazú Agreement.
